Mission StatementThe Mission of the Gulf Coast RC&D Council is to promote, protect and develop local natural resources to secure social and economic benefits for the people of the area. The purpose of the organization is to plan and direct a program on a multi-county basis that insures that the public is fully involved and apprised of the activities. It will initiate programs and seek technical and financial assistance from various sources to accomplish the identified objectives and goals. GOALS
The goals of the Gulf Coast RC&D Council are long term targets that express the Council’s future direction. The Objectives are specific, measurable increments that will move the Gulf Coast RC&D Council toward goal accomplishments. Goals and objectives of the Gulf Coast RC&D Council are based on strategic analysis of the three-county RC&D Council area.
The Gulf Coast RC&D Council identified the following goals to address the problems, needs and opportunities in the Council area.
· Conserve the soil and water resources in the council area.
· Develop community facilities to improve social and economic conditions in the council area.
· Promote recycling programs to conserve natural resources.
· Develop the area’s agriculture, aquaculture, and other natural resources for economic benefit.
